New super marios bros 2 ending

I don't even have to mark this for spoilers.

Mario beats bowser -> Mario didn't really beat bowser and he comes back giant or some shit -> Mario beats giant bowser -> Mario saves peach.

But yeah, I hate nintendo for their lack of logic in mario games. Anyone else notice how mario just tends to stare at the koopa kid carrying peach instead of actually doing something about it until after they start running?
